Mervin Wood Jr. is part of BASF’s Resins & Additives Technical Service Team located in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a Technical Expert, he is responsible for technical support of UV absorbers, light stabilizers, antioxidants, flame retardants, & optical brighteners for coatings and adhesives in NAFTA. Previously, Dr. Wood has held positions in Process Development, Coatings Research, Toll Manufacturing, and Intellectual Property Management all with Ciba/BASF since 1988.

Mauricio Misdrahi, Ph.D., is a scientist and technical professional with over 25 years of experience in the paints and coatings industry, currently serving as Senior Technical Specialist at BASF where he leads the defoamers platform and architectural coatings for waterborne systems. His career includes leadership roles at SASOL and Brenntag in R&D, technical support, and marketing across Latin America and North America, with expertise in additives, rheology, and environmental requirements. He holds advanced degrees in chemical engineering and polymer science, has published eight scientific articles, and presented at seventeen international conferences on topics such as surfactants and coating technologies.

Tony Moy, senior technical specialist, is responsible for supporting BASF Formulation Additives (Dispersing Agents, Wetting Agents, Defoamers, Rheology Modifiers, Film Forming Agents, Plasticizers, and Conductivity Aids) in the transportation (including EV), industrial, furniture and flooring market segments. He is also the primary expert for dispersing agents within the BASF Formulation Additives team in North America. Tony has been with BASF for 13 years. Prior to his current role, Tony worked in the area of process development, supporting the scale up and alignment of various additive technologies at BASF plant assets in North America. Overall, he has been in the coatings industry for 36 years, working in diverse areas such as fluoropolymers, fluoro-refrigerants, inkjet, automotive and industrial coatings. He has degrees in Chemical Engineering and an MBA.
